In early April of this year  my statue in celebration of the ironstone miners who, along with their womenfolk, were the people responsible for the foundation and development of the East Cleveland landscape and society following the discovery of iron ore in the local hills in 1840. Together with the blast furnace workers in Middlesbrough supplied steel to the world for the construction of bridges, railways and skyscrapers etc. It is cast in bronze/resin with a graphite finish and is situated opposite the green in Skelton in Cleveland.
